We’re excited to announce the beta launch of High Recall ID,  a new identifier that enables you to recognize more anonymous users than you would with the standard visitor ID. Our standard visitor ID is designed to reduce and prevent fraud, prioritizing precision over coverage. 

However, in some use cases, failing to recognize a returning user means missing a chance to convert. High Recall ID is designed to capture more of those conversion opportunities by reducing friction and providing personalized experiences — so you can turn returning users into loyal customers.

Why should you use High Recall ID?

When it comes to identifying browsers, every touchpoint on your site or in your application may need different levels of precision. For example, on your login or checkout page, preventing fraud is paramount, so you would want to want to identify the browsers as precisely as possible.

However, on your homepage or product pages, you’d rather recognize a returning guest than treat them like a stranger. This is where High Recall ID is useful! 

High Recall ID is optimized for better coverage and works alongside your current visitor ID. You can use High Recall ID to:

  • Recognize more returning users even when they clear cookies or return after several days.
  • Personalize anonymous sessions with curated promotions, specialized content, and hand-picked recommendations.
  • Accurately detect account sharing by combining insights from both High Recall ID and the standard visitor ID.

Early adopters have seen a significant increase in the recognition rate of returning browsers. For one of our customers, the High Recall ID improved this rate by 27%.

What’s included in the beta? 

When you opt in to try the beta version of  High Recall ID, you get:

  • The High Recall ID in addition to the standard visitor ID in the Identification API response.
  • The ability to perform a side-by-side comparison of the High Recall ID and the standard visitor ID for their recognition rate and accuracy 

How to get started

The beta version of High Recall ID is now available for all Enterprise customers. You’ll get early access to the new, additional identifier built for better recognition, plus insights to help you decide where and how to use it.
